2010-11 Indoor & Outdoor Track and Field Information

POSTED 2/13/11

Here are the full results from the 4-A Indoor State Championships.

Our boys 4x8 relay (Christian Klute, Cory Fetterolf, Stephan Ryan, & Aaron Smith) had one of the best races of the day.  We went in ranked #1, but Christian Klute got pneumonia earlier in the week and was out of school all week.  We planned on running an alternate until about 20mins before the race when he told me that he could do it.      I had my doubts, but Christian ran a good leg in the relay despite being sick.   We finished 2nd in the 4x8 and only lost by about 1/2 second.   Christian ran approx. 2:07, Cory ran approx. 2:04.5, Stephan ran approx. 2:04.5, and Aaron ran approx. 1:59.   There is no doubt that we would have won, by a lot, if the team had been healthy.

The 4x8 team ran 8:16.24 which is almost 15 seconds faster than they did during the indoor season last year.    The relay team last year went from 8:30 during the indoor season to 8:02 during the outdoor season.

It should be very fun/interesting to see what this team can do during the outdoor season.    I think there will be some video of that race floating around soon....so try ask around and try to see it.  It is impressive. Aaron Smith ran a strong leg of 1:59 in the 4x8 and came back to run a 2:36.51 in the 1000m.   This time is also a big improvement over last year's time.  He finished 4th in the 1000m.

The team finished in 14th place today in the 4-A classification.    There are 100 teams in the 4-A classification.....   so 14th is not too bad!!
